Sage Social Services

April 2007, Melanie Hennis founded Sage Social Services while attending Texas State University and enrolled in a PhD program. The community services business grew to such an extent that she soon had to postpone her doctoral degree pursuit and devote full-time energies to the new enterprise. Currently, Sage has four full time office staff employees and 20+ counselors who serve a variety of clients with a variety of therapeutic techniques. From PhD to Master’s level Sage has a therapist that will help families, couples and individuals find a piece of peace.

Located in a suburb of San Antonio, Texas, Sage also maintains a healing retreat center in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the big city. The healing retreat center provides a get-away for all individuals or groups who wish to have silence, solitude, and peace with an integrative approach to emotional healing and spiritual growth. Sage puts to full use its motto “Skills and Strategies for Solutions” in this bucolic setting.

Sage is a plant with healing powers as well as a wise judicious or discerning person who provides healing advice. At Sage Social Services, we endeavor to live up to our name. Along with the therapist, Sage Social Services maintains “furry friends” who provide comfort, love, and accommodations to all who arrive at Sage. We wish to see you here soon.

Sage Social Services is now expanding to serve the Hill Country and surrounding counties. Our mission will continue to be community service that supports individuals, families, and organizations in developing skills and strategies resulting in solutions that promote peace, health and happiness.
