Sage Social Services

In April 2007, Melanie Hennis founded Sage Social Services while enrolled in Texas State University's Ph.D. program. Sage Social Services grew to such an extent that Melanie soon had to postpone her pursuit of a doctoral degree to devote full-time energies to the new enterprise. Currently, Sage has four full-time office staff employees and contracts dozens of counselors to include Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, and Licensed Professional Counselor-Interns, who serve a variety of clients by using a variety of therapeutic techniques. From Master's-level to Ph.D., Sage has a therapist who will help families, couples, and individuals find a piece of peace.

Located in a suburb of San Antonio, Texas, Sage maintains some quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the big city. Most importantly, Sage puts to full use its motto “Skills and Strategies for Solutions” in its bucolic setting.

So, what is the meaning of sage? Sage can be understood as being one of the following: 1. a plant with healing powers 2. a wise judicious or discerning person who provides healing advice. Sage Social Services characterizes both definitions. At Sage Social Services, we endeavor to live up to our name. Along with the therapists, Sage Social Services maintains “furry friends” who provide comfort, love, and accommodations to all who arrive at Sage. We wish to see you here soon.

Our mission will continue to be community service that supports individuals, families, and organizations in developing skills and strategies resulting in solutions that promote peace, health, and happiness.
